  1. Seismosaurus was the longest animal that ever lived. They have long necked, whip tailed, and small head.  with 40-52 metres length. Seismosaurus ate only plant but they measured over 40 metres, as long as five -decker buses.

  2. The smallest dinosaurs were Lesothosaurus. They were small like chicken. They had long legs and could run fast to get away from predators. They lived in Africa during the Jurassic period.
  3. All dinosaurs laid eggs. About 40 kinds of dinosaur eggs have been discovered.

  4. Dinosaurs dominated Earth for over 165 million years. Humans have been around for only 2 million years.

  6. The word dinosaur comes from the Greek language and means ‘terrible lizard’, and a person who studies dinosaurs is known as a paleontologist.
  7. Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex) had huge back legs, but its tiny front legs were not much longer than human arms. They could run between 24-40 kph. They had massive jaws with 50 to 60 blade-like teeth, some up to 9 inches long. T-Rex was one of the best known dinosaurs, but it didn’t live all that long. T-Rex came along just before the dinosaurs became extinct.

  8. Microraptor were  tiny, feathered dinosaurs who had four-wings. However, they couldn’t fly but gliding from tree to tree.

  9. At present, there are over 700 different species of dinosaurs have been found. Palaeontologists believe new different dinosaur species still to be discovered.
  10. Despite being long extinct, dinosaurs are frequently featured in the media. One of the more memorable examples of this is Michael Crichton’s 1990 book Jurassic Park.
