Hi kids! Do you know something special is coming tomorrow?
Tomorrow is a very important day to our life. Tomorrow is the day we give our best wishes and loves to the one who sacrifice her life, her happiness, and all her time only for us.
Tomorrow is Mother’s day.
Wow!!! Why tomorrow is such a special day? I love my mother everyday.
Well, there is reason for that.
The official Mother’s Day was founded in 1858 as a result of the efforts of Ann Jarvis, an activist, writer and poet. Mrs Jarvis used to express her desire that someday someone must honor all mothers, living and dead, and pay tribute to the contributions made by them.
Following her mother’s death at 1905, Ann Jarvis resolved to fulfill her mother’s desire of having a mother’s day. She wrote letters to people in positions of power accepting for the official declaration of Mother’s Day holiday.
After her tireless hard work, Mother’s Day was celebrated in almost every state in the Union by 1911, and on May 8, 1914 President Woodrow Wilson designated the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.
Today, Mother’s Day is celebrated in many countries including US, UK, Finland, Italy, Canada, and Japan. Many people give gifts, cards, flowers, candy, other treats to their mother and mother figures, including grandmothers, great-grandmothers, stepmothers, and foster mothers.
What are you waiting for? Let’s prepare special things for our lovely mothers and bring smiles upon their faces.
